The Mysterious Disappearance of Mona Buonanotte

Hey all…I trust you had an awesome and fun Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Solstice/New Years. Let me just clue you as to where I’ve been:

1) Death in the family
2) Another death in the family
3) Workload at the office that would choke a team of sturdy, well-bred horses
4) Christmas…buying and wrapping and scheming for our family, my siblings and parents, 3 sets of inlaws, and several dozen teachers, instructors, and sports helpers
5) Stomach flu – GirlChild and me, right before Christmas, out of commission 4 days
6) I totally missed blogging BoyChild’s birthday in early December…Bad Momma
7) Snow day…screwed up last day of school parties
8) Company lunch/White Elephant
9) 5 Christmas celebrations. FIVE. Yeah, tha’s right.
10) Sister-in-law birthday
11) Attempting to bake something festive
12) Back to school, work, wah-wah-ing all the way
13) Sergei in and out and in hospital. Something about lungs, heart, infection, nodule, blood tests, CT scan, specialists, Vicodin. He’s back in, we’re still waiting, would appreciate good juju sent our way, but don’t freak out.

Tell me something good that's happened to you and I will live vicariously through you.

Oh my gosh! I'm so so sorry and I hope things get much better.
Something good?
I got proposed to on Christmas and I said YES!
And my ex husband looked like an ass in court in front of the judge! And we are filing contempt paperwork against him this week so the WHOLE thing will probably get thrown out!

OH SERGEI my goodness! You know I am gonna send the good vibe your way....

Oh! Yes, many healing vibes coming Sergei's way. Don't hesitate to get a big-city second opinion if his docs aren't figuring things out appropriately.

Condolences on the family deaths, dear.

I took a Caribbean cruise over Christmas and got to chillax over the holidays (yay!) and escape a dreadful week of Chicago winter (yay!).

Not freaking out. Not.

Something good? My daughter has been home from college for three weeks now and we haven't had a single fight. Maybe tonight.

No freak outs. I'm as cool as post-tattoo meno.

Er...the sunsets have been gorgeous here. The daffodils are all blooming and filling the air with that peculiar, astringent smell. I spent an hour at work work on the clock building a flat-pack Target brand bookcase with lovely simple Shaker feet. Does that help any?

Oh Mona! How have you managed?

If I were there I'd come and sit with your kids while you got a mani pedi, and then we'd go get drunk on margaritas.

Except (and here's the good news part) I don't live there, and I can't drink margaritas because I'M PREGNANT.

Wow, all these other good news leave me grasping for something to rival...

Let's see, oh yeah, the doctor fixed me up with some really great medecine and for the first time in several years I am really truly happy. Which I love.

Now, keeping it cool, but please let us know and get plenty of sleep. Here, here is some serious juju coming your way! ((you))

Hey hon, sorry to hear about Sergei. I will send you all my good juju, because you need it more than I do. Hope you had a nice holiday.

Sorry things are not going so well. Really hope they improve but keep us "posted".

I had a really great Christmas with both sides of my family and a lot of friends. My health is actually holding its own for now.
